ABOUT 

A strange custom, existing as far back as the 17th century in the United Kingdom was the tradition of the “sin eater” – someone said to be able to absolve the deceased of their sins by taking them on himself, allowing them to freely and peacefully enter the afterlife.
This custom traveled with early immigrants to Appalachia, where our story is set.
Who is this person that can take on sin?  Here in these mountains, a young girl, tormented by guilt, has to know.  She must find the one that can restore her own mother’s love and mend her broken heart.
But what she doesn’t know is that the sin eater is seeking as well.
Before their journeys are over, she and the sin eater must face themselves, each other, and the beautiful One who will require everything -  from them in exchange for the freedom they seek.
